A D French & Associates was
founded by
Antonio D. French
in 2000 while he was a field coordinator for Missouri Voters for
Fair Elections, directing workers over three Congressional districts
for a statewide signature-gathering campaign to put campaign finance
reform and voluntary public financing of campaigns on the ballot
in Missouri. That effort was a success. MVFE gathered over 100,000
signatures across the state and for the first time ever, that
important issue appeared on the ballot in Missouri.
It was not long afterwards that we took on our first candidate campaign, the
re-election of a powerful veteran state senator, Sen. Wayne
Goode, in Missouri's 13th district. What was our firm's first
candidate campaign became our firm's first candidate win.
It was soon followed by a string of wins for other candidates
in the St. Louis metro area, including: Sen. Patrick Dougherty,
Alderman Melinda Long, and Democratic Committeewoman Myrtle
French.
Apart from campaign work, Antonio
also worked as a lobbyist in state government. In 2001, he was
asked to become the youngest member of the executive committee
of Missouri's Department of Corrections. Under then-director
Dora Schriro, French served as her Legislative Liaison, the
department's chief lobbyist and liaison to the Office of the
Governor, State Senate, and House of Representatives.
That same year, Antonio
was named "One of Missouri's Most Magnetic People"
by St. Louis Magazine, an honored shared by just a small group
of other St. Louisans, including professional athletes and actors.
Today Antonio continues
to serve as the President, CEO, and principal campaign manager
of A D French & Associates.
